Critical Reflection

 One of the goals that I had set at the start of this module was to further improve my communication skills which would better equip me for my line of work in future. Now that this module is coming to a close, I am glad that I have actually managed to build on my communication skills through the many things I have learnt throughout this module. The most impactful concept that was taught to me and helped achieve this goal was the Paul-Elder framework. The Paul-Elder critical thinking framework helps improve and upgrade the way I think, which greatly benefits the way I view and process different situations or scenarios. This affects many aspects of my life as critical thinking is used in majority of thinking processes, including communication skills. Most of the packaging used in the modern world does an excellent job of preserving the cleanliness of our food which prevents food-related illnesses. However, this comes at the cost of a large amount of plastic being thrust into our environment. In the packaging industry, 50% of the plastics produced from fossil fuels are used for food packaging (Ncube et al.,2020). The article “Spray-on, Rinse Off Food ‘Wrapper’, Can Cut Plastic Packaging”, written by (Jones, 2022) , introduces a revolutionary solution capable of food preservation whilst being environmentally friendly: a biodegradable fibre, pullulan, is applied through “focused rotary jet spinning” (FRJS) and is spun around the food, functioning as a wrapper which can be easily washed off upon consumption.
